Community Outreach

The mission/vision of the WOTC Food and Clothing Committee is to address the issue of hunger and lack of clothing for the poor as detailed in Matthew 25:34-40.  Our heartfelt desire is to feed and clothe all to the extent that our resources will allow.  It is an expression of the love of God for all no matter what culture, profession/confession of faith, ethnicity, or history.

Anyone who would like to contribute time, talent or treasure for these causes are welcome to make contact with the church and help us bring the reality of this mission/vision statement into the lives of the needy.

If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I amthere shall also my servant beif any manserve me, him will my Father honour.

John 12:26

Recruits of God (Youth)

& Jr Ushers

The Recruits of God/Junior Ushers Ministry was birthed in the heart of Elder John Mann in 2017 after recognizing a necessity to engage the youth of the ministry in service for God. Knowing that music is often a resource that can be used to engage and excite young people, Elder Mann encouraged youth within the ministry and outside community members to come together to uplift the name of the Lord through praises and song. The youth came together, picked their own name, and decided they would be called,

“The Recruits of God”.  The ministry grew beyond just song to include Bible Classes on Sunday, Scripture memorization, learning the books of the Bible and also ushering in the house of the Lord on one Sunday per month. The youth look forward to recruiting more members, serving in the house of the Lord, praising God with their friends and growing in closer, personal, spiritual relationships with their Creator. Youth Sunday is every fourth Sunday of the month. “Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not; for such is the Kingdom of God.” Matthew 19:14

Prison Ministry

The Prison Ministry Team at WOTC began in 2007. The team is comprised of a group of saints who seek to serve as a strong voice for God within the confines of the prison walls. The team works to build up and fortify themselves through their prayer life and personal relationships with God and then brings those experiences, in addition to the love of God to those currently incarcerated. The Prison Ministry Team strives to bring hope to the hopeless and assist in setting the captives free through God’s Word and Love. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son; that whosoever will, let him come and He will in no wise cast him out.”

Missionary Department

Missionaries are those sent out to spread God’s Word and to do His will. The mission of the Missionary department is to serve God’s people. We are motivated by the love of God and work to fulfill the responsibility of evangelism to all those that are lost, making them disciples of Jesus Christ. The members of the missionary department work to address the physical and spiritual needs of individuals and to equip and empower the Body of Christ through Bible-based instructions, intercessory prayer, active service, worship, and fellowship.

Members of this department are committed to Jesus Christ, The Bible, and the Great Commission.   18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20 New International Version (NIV)

Mother Board

The mission of the Mother Board is to teach and encourage the younger women of the ministry by providing wise counsel, interceding with prayer, serve as mentors and provide examples of holiness, righteousness, honor and respect. In addition, members of the mother board, prepare the church for communion and assist the pastor with the ceremony, prepare candidates for baptism, visit the sick and shut in, and assist the pastor in any other things he deems necessary. “3 Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, 5 to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.” Titus 2:3-5 New International Version (NIV)

Women’s Ministry

/Conference

The mission of the Women’s Ministry/Conference is to encourage women within the ministry to have a strong prayer life. In addition, the women of this ministry strive to be a resource for other women and to connect with and strengthen one another by building faith based relationships amongst the women in Christ. The Women’s ministry works to be resourceful and to help meet the needs of the church and those within our community. The Women’s Ministry has been hosting an annual conference for the last 15 years,

usually held each Spring in April. The Women’s Ministry/Conference hopes to exemplify the love and compassion of God in order to draw others closer in the spirit of love, fellowship, and repentance. “By this all men will know that you are my disciples if you have love for one another.” John 13:35

Men’s Ministry/Conference

The Men’s Ministry/Conference was birthed in the heart of Elder John Mann and successfully held the first Annual Breaking Chains Men’s Conference in the summer of 2014. The Men’s Ministry was established in order to help fortify the body of Christ as well as the family by starting with head of the family which is the man. God has called the man to lead by example, to be a loving and righteous head who will stand in the gap leading the family down the road of truth. The goal of the Men’s Ministry/Conference is to be a guiding light within the community, made in the image of God and reflecting Him with the lives we lead. The Annual Breaking Chains Men’s Conference is held each summer in August.

Ushers

The ushers of the church work hand in hand with the Pastor to ensure the service is a success. The usher is the first face that anyone sees entering the house of the Lord. We strive to greet each person with a smile, leading them to a comfortable seat, and helping to put them in the right frame of mind to receive what the Lord has for them at any particular time. The ushers are responsible for maintaining perfect order in the church at all times and remaining prayerful while assisting throughout God’s house, but especially at the altar. 10 Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be

a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell

in the tents of the wicked.

Psalm 84:10 New International Version (NIV)
